ZCISD Compensatory Education held their first Parental Involvement Meeting for the year at Fidel and Andrea R. Villarreal on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 12:45PM to 2:00PM. Mr. Roberto O. Hein, Superintendent of Schools, showed his support by attending the meeting. Mr. Rogelio Gonzalez, Director, and Ms. Cynthia Villarreal, Ed.D., Coordinator, presented information on student attendance. Mrs. Marlen Guerra, FARVES Principal, informed parents about Title I. Mrs. Suzette M. Barrera, Director, talked about the services that the Compensatory Education Department provides and invited parents to visit Mr. Eric Haner's booth, USDA Area Specialist, who had information about government water and waste water grants as well as housing loans for repairing and building low income homes. Next, the FARVES Kindergarten classes performed classic Spanish songs wearing original Mexican costumes to honor "el 16 de septiembre". Finally, the staff held door prize raffles and parents were invited to take a "good bye goody" cookie package. A total of 122 parents attended the meeting. The ZCISD Compensatory Education Department would like to thank all parents and ZCISD staff members for attending the meeting as well as all staff members who helped prepare for the meeting.
