Girls from Zapata County Independent School District participated in The Girls With Impact Academy Program. Eighteen ZCISD girls were selected to join the academy at the Boys and Girls Club of Zapata to learn how to turn their passion into impact, to create their own venture/business prototype and to pitch a business plan. Upon completion of the certificate each girl will have 25 service hours as they will be attending the academy for 10 sessions. The academy began January 19, 2023 and is under the direction of Michele Croci and McKenna Belury. Gloria Vela, ZCISD FACE Liaison collaborated with The Boys and Girls Club supervising program staff which include Leslie Vela, CEO; Mona Martinez, Grant Administrator; and Alexzandrah Palacios, Youth Development Staff to recruit participants.
